Yikes! Sell, Keep, Throw Away

Yikes, only six and a half more weeks until we move! It may seem like a long ways away, but with everything that must be done between now and then…. Yikes! Six more weekends. Since I work full-time during the weeks that’s how I think about it. One of those will be the garage sale at my parents and camping with my mom and cousins. Two of them we will be in New York looking for apartments. That leaves three weekends! One before we go apartment hunting and two when we get back!

Slowly but surely we are purging our apartment of everything we do not need; more and more has been going in the pile to sell. Hopefully the garage sale at the beginning of August will be successful. I have also been trying to pack some things. Our place is a mess right now; boxes of stuff to sell, stuff to bring, and piles of things to decide what to do with.

While I tend to go for the old fashioned garage sale idea, Maz, being much more technologically savvy, is posting a lot of his things on online with some success. He has sold most of his video games and some other electronic gadgets.

The hardest thing to deal with right now, besides the piles all over our apartment, is deciding what to keep, sell, throw away, or beg my parents to hold on to for the time being. Having gone to school for 22 years, seven or those being undergrad or grad studies, I have a TON of books. I really do not want to part with any of them. Most of them I haven’t looked at in months (or years) but I still have an attachment to all of them. After we actually find an apartment I will know if I can some (or all) take them.
