We Found an Apartment-(a very small way too expensive apartment)

I started this post long ago…. as we have said we made it, but it has been crazy so we haven’t had time to write. But here is the post of our apartment search.

So Maz and I were in NYC last week hunting for apartment. After days of checking adds, calling, seeing places, and e-mailing people we finally found a place. I will admit that this week was probably one of the most stressful weeks I have ever had; surprisingly I only broke down in tears once. When we first arrived in NYC I was pretty confident about finding an apartment. I didn’t think it could be that hard. I figured if millions of other people had done it, so could we. (more…)

Moving To NYC Is Crazy In A Good Way

We are back. Sorry for the long break, we simply haven’t had time to keep up with the blog during the move. The good news is that we made it to NYC safely, we are BACK, and will be posting more often now. We will do our best to recap the insanity that was the last few months leading up to and including our move. We’ll also be posting new and exciting adventures about living in NYC. There is so much to do and explore, we won’t be lacking new content anytime soon. So stay tuned as more posts are in the works. Thank you everyone for your comments on our previous posts, and thanks to everyone who helped make this journey a reality. Stay tuned…

Originally the plan was that I was going to find a job in New York that would help pay for relocation, then we decided that we could afford to relocate, but we would have to have a jobs set up before we moved. Now neither of those has happened and now I am just hoping that I will find something before we run out of money. Anyone know anybody that is hiring a sociologist????

Stuff, stuff and more stuff

The past week has been full of sorting, packing, and throwing away. Our apartment is currently full of piles of stuff that we have to figure out what to do with. If I have learned anything from this whole experience it is that I have WAY TO MUCH STUFF. If anyone plans on moving to New York (or anywhere far away from were they are for that matter) plan ahead. I feel like I should have been doing this for the past six months. (more…)
